Cheetah with a broken leg – Alec Benjamin

Intro:
He used to run, he used to wander through the jungle
He would scoff at other creatures, had no reason to be humble
Was number one until the day he tripped and stumbled
Fell about a hundred meters down, his femer, well, it crumbled
And now, he barely gets around
He's tethered to the ground , unrecognizable
He hardly makes a sound , he used to roar
But that's who he was before
Cheetah with a broken leg, tryin' to find himself again
Missin' who he was back then, he isn't who he was back then
Cheetah with a broken heart, creature with a dying spark
Starting over at the start , starting is the hardest part
Part, part
And as he laid there in the cool shade of the forest
He soon began to realize that there are things far more important
Then running faster, cunning has its perks and promise
But there's more to life than tempo, if we're really bein' honest
And now , he finds his way around
Not tethered to the ground , unrecognizable
He even makes that sound , he likes to roar
Just like he did before
Cheetah with a broken leg, tryin' to find himself again
Missin' who he was back then, he isn't who he was back then
Cheetah with a broken heart, creature with a dying spark
Starting over at the start , starting is the hardest part
Part, part
I look at him, can't help but see myself reflected
Used to feel I was invincible until fate interjected
Sixty to zero, well, it only took at second
Went from standing at the pinnacle to falling off the edges
Oh, how , I feel just like him now
Cheetah with a broken leg, tryin' to find himself again
Missin' who he was back then, he isn't who he was back then
Cheetah with a broken heart, creature with a dying spark
Starting over at the start , starting is the hardest part
Part, part
