"Call On Me" by Chicago
(Loughnane)
Chicago VII 1974
For the intro, I strum the first six chords once and then make-up my own kind of rhythm.
Also, sliding up the fretboard from Am and A#m a little sounds like the recording.
It would help to play all of the chords using barre chords, and a wah-wah pedal is needed.

For the verses, I play a strumming pattern of:
w w x w u x u u x w u w with w(down), u(up), and x(muted)
Verse 1:
ch]Amaj7[/ch] [ch]C#m7[/ch] [ch]Bm7[/ch
The feeling was clear, clear as a blue sky on a sunny day
ch]G#m7[/ch] [ch]C#9[/ch
Everything was you, oo ooo
ch]Dmaj7[/ch] [ch]C#m7[/ch] [ch]Bm7[/ch
'Cause no one made me feel, the way I felt with you, oh oohh
ch]C9[/ch] [ch]F#m7[/ch] [ch]Gmaj7[/ch
Call on me 'cause I love you
ch]F#m7[/ch] [ch]Gmaj7[/ch] [ch]F#m7[/ch] [ch]Gmaj7[/ch] [ch]F#maj7[/ch
You know I do, you love me too. oo ooo oooo
For verse 2, the strumming pattern stays the same, but for the first D chord, I play:
w u w u w x w x w x (twice)
Verse 2:
ch]F#maj7[/ch] [ch]Gmaj7[/ch] [ch]Amaj7[/ch] [ch]C#m7[/ch] [ch]Bm7[/ch
Then came a change, when I said I would soon be leavin' you
ch]G#m7[/ch] [ch]C#9[/ch
Nothing else to do, oooh
ch]Dmaj7[/ch] [ch]C#m7[/ch] [ch]Bm7[/ch
But please remember I'll never lose the thought of you
ch]C9[/ch] [ch]F#m7[/ch] [ch]Gmaj7[/ch
Call on me 'cause I love you
ch]F#m7[/ch] [ch]Gmaj7[/ch] [ch]F#m7[/ch] [ch]Gmaj7[/ch] [ch]F#maj7[/ch
You know I do, you love me too. oo ooo oooo
I ad-lib on rhythm for the instrumental. It's difficult to hear the guitar
over the brass and percussion anyways.
ch]F#maj7[/ch
