LOVE HURTS: EVERLY BROTHERS (: F#) (Boudleaux Bryant) (92 – 4/4)
This Tab is based on their slow version, recorded on July 13, 1960 in the F#-key.
I transposed the chords one tone up to the G-key, for easy playing.
To play along with the original, tune your guitar one tone down, or
transpose all the chords one tone down.
They also recorded an up-beat version in their 'That'll Be The Day' style,
I don't know when that was recorded; probably in the mid sixties.
It's shorter and it's got a set beat for the whole song in the A key:
A, F#m, D, E7, every chord lasts 2 measures of 4-counts.
|G |: Chord(s) and Measure of 4-counts.

LOVE
Verse-1:
HURTS, LOVE SCARS, LOVE WOUNDS, AND MARRS.
ANY HEART, NOT TOUGH, NOR STRONG E-NOUGH.
TO TAKE A LOT OF PAIN, TAKE A LOT OF PAIN.
LOVE IS LIKE A CLOUD, HOLDS A LOT OF RAIN.
LOVE HURTS, LOVE HURTS. I'M
Verse-2:
YOUNG, I KNOW, BUT EVEN SO.
I KNOW A THING OR TWO, I'VE LEARNED FROM YOU.
I'VE REALLY LEARNED A LOT, REALLY LEARNED A LOT,
LOVE IS LIKE A STOVE, BURNS YOU WHEN IT'S HOT.
LOVE HURTS, LOVE HURTS.
Chorus:
SOME FOOLS RAVE OF HAPPI-NESS, BLISSFUL-NESS, TO-GETHER-NESS.
/ (Break)
SOME FOOLS FOOL THEM-SELVES I GUESS, BUT THEY'RE NOT FOOLING ME.
Verse-3 + Outro:
I KNOW IT ISN'T TRUE, NO IT ISN'T TRUE,
LOVE IS JUST A LIE, MADE TO MAKE YOU BLUE.
(Fade out )
LOVE HURTS, LOVE HURTS, LOVE HURTS.
